The plaintiff had returned to her parents' home in June 2010, where she had stayed for the three months leading up to the proceeding. After formal mediation failed to reconcile the parties, the court acknowledged that the parties' ongoing conflict, pursuant to art 19(f) of Government Regulation No. 9 of 1975, and art 116(f) of the Compilation of Islamic Laws, constituted a sufficient reason to grant the plaintiff an irrevocable divorce (talak ba'in shughra).
