On February 8, 2023, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) filed an affidavit with the Supreme Court of India asserting that it is permissible for women to pray in mosques, provided that there is segregation of men and women within the mosque. The Board also included a note to the Muslim community at large that, when mosques are being constructed, separate women’s prayer spaces should be included in the construction plans.
