This fatwa defines a 'state shari'a security' as a state security issued purusant to shari'a principles, as proof of partial ownership of a state shari'a security asset, both in Indonesian Rupiah and foreign currency. A 'state shari'a security asset' is defined as a state shari'a security and/or state-owned financial asset with economic value (land, property and/or other), which can underpin the issuance of a state shari'a security.
