National Shari'a Board - Indonesian Council of Ulama Fatwa No. 48 of 2005 on Rescheduling of Murabahah Bills

This fatwa states that shari'a financial institutes may reschedule upcoming payments for their customers who are unable to make payment by the agreed upon date, on the following conditions:
- the shari'a financial institute does not increase the amount owing;
- the imposition of costs in the rescheduling process are real costs; and
- a time extension for payment must be based on an agreement between the two parties.
